Hi Year 2! We hope you are all safe and well. It has been great to see that some of you have already started completing your tasks on Google Classroom, Purple Mash and My Maths. We know some of you might be working from your packs this week which is also fine!
When you log into Google Classroom, make sure you go through RMUnify to make sure that you are logged in using your school email or it won't bring up our classroom. You are already joined to the classroom, so it is ready for you to start learning when you're ready!
We have uploaded a Maths, English and Topic task every day this week and it has been great to see the work that some of you have completed. Especially some of the drumming tasks from today! Keep working hard and remember you can talk to us on Google Classroom if you need anything.

If you haven't already sent back consent for our trip, you can now give consent on the school app.
World Book Day 2020
Wow! What a superb effort Year 2 made for World Book Day this year. We had a variety of different character costumes and the children loved discussing their favourite books.
Year 2 also visited the library and listened to a brilliant story about a really disgusting sandwich! We had a great time and thank you to Mrs Walker for making the story so exciting for us.
In class, we created our own book character and talked about what makes characters really interesting.
Thank you to everyone for your support with the costumes - everyone looked brilliant!
SATs meeting information
Year 2 SATs meeting
Reminder - there is a Year 2 SATs meeting on Wednesday 12th February at 3:30.
Please collect children as normal. We will then invite you back into the building once all of the children have been safely collected.
Thank you for your continued support.
Spring Term Trip Reminder
We will be visiting West Midlands Safari Park for our Spring Term trip! The letters have already been sent out with the details for this trip. If you need another copy, please ask the office and they will get one sorted for you. We are really looking forward to the day - especially our workshop!
Our school library is open on Wednesday and Thursday lunchtime for children to change their library books on a weekly basis. Mrs Walker will be available to help you. We will also be visiting the library as a class soon!
We have been experiencing a few problems with Spelling Shed access in the last few weeks. We are in the process of sorting this out and we will let you know when it is sorted.
Until then, continue to complete MyMaths homework as usual.
Year 2 Trip
On Friday 8th November, Y2 took part in their local area walk around Netherton. Luckily, the sun was shining and we weren't too cold! We walked through the park, over to Bumble Hole, followed the canal and then we walked back to school by following the Halesowen Road. We
talked about different houses, shops and buildings and discussed the difference between them. We also linked our learning back to our Geography map work in the classroom and made sure that we looked out for different road signs so that we knew where we were! The children were thoroughly engaged during the whole visit and they were a pleasure to take out (the volunteers in Bumble Hole cafe even said how polite they were).
Well done Y2 - let's see what else we can find out about our local area in our History and Geography lessons.
