Geography Intent

Our geography curriculum provides pupils with a deeper knowledge and understanding of the world, their place in it and the interconnectedness of physical and human interactions. Pupils are taught key physical geographical processes before applying this understanding to a wider context, allowing them to gain a deep understanding of diverse places, people, resources, sustainability and natural and human environments. Our enquiry led approach seeks to inspire in children a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people which will remain with them for the rest of their lives, equipping them well for further education and beyond. A key driver of our Geography curriculum is to encourage children to understand their role as global citizens with a responsibility to protect our planet for the future, embrace important environmental issues and be proud of their local heritage as well as opening their minds to the wider world.
