Art Intent

At the heart of our Art curriculum is the belief that every child is an artist. We foster creativity, confidence, and curiosity in all pupils, ensuring inclusive access to a broad range of artistic media and techniques. Our carefully sequenced curriculum of drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, and digital media is shaped around a range of contemporary and classical artists. Pupils are explicitly taught art-specific vocabulary and have regular opportunities to explore and discuss a variety of artists and their distinctive styles. Through consistent practice applying key skills, vocabulary, and concepts, pupils build on prior knowledge and grow in confidence, making independent choices and experimenting creatively.
