Music Intent

The music curriculum gives all children the chance to enjoy, create, and perform music. It builds children’s self-esteem and inspires them to perform and explore music creatively with their voices and instruments. Using multimedia, children are exposed to a range of genres of music, encouraged to evaluate their musical preferences, explore the world of musical instrumentation and work towards performances. Children are given the opportunity to learn new instruments through small-group specialist teaching. Opportunities to join extra-curricular vocal groups are available across key stages. This nurtures a lasting love of music and offers children the space for creativity and self-expression.
