  • Roald Dahl's Birthday

Mon 19 Sep 2016 Mr Regan

As you may know, at the weekend, the centenary of Roald Dahl's birth was in the news.  One of our greatest children's authors, I'm sure you've all read his books or seen the movies, so here's a challenge for you - go to this website and see which Roald Dahl character you are!

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/quizzes/bp-quiz-which-roald-dahl-character-are-you

When you see me on the playground, come and tell me which character you are (and I might tell you which character I am!)

  • "Big Me" Day Friday 14th October

Wed 14 Sep 2016 Mr Regan

On Friday 14th October, we are holding a "Big Me" Day here at school in support of Action Aid.

Children can come to school "dressed as their future selves".  This is a chance for them to dress up as the people they would like to grow up to be.  It could be as a firefighter, a doctor, or even an astronaut!  Just think of the possibilities!  If they could grow up to be whatever they wanted to be....

Suggested donation is £1 per child but any amount raised will go directly to charity.  If you would like to know  more about this important charity, please visit their website at: https://www.actionaid.org.uk/

Well done to all the Reception children who stayed to lunch for the first time yesterday.  They were all wonderful as staying for lunch for the first time can be a very daunting experience!  I enjoyed sitting and eating with them and especially enjoyed getting to know Rogan and Paddy whilst we ate together!

  • Welcome back!

Mon 12 Sep 2016 Mr Regan

Welcome back everyone to the new term at Northfield Rd.  I hope everyone had a good summer.

I'd particularly like to welcome our new parents and children into our Reception classes as well as those that are new in other year groups.  A warm welcome too, to our new staff! If you are new, and haven't had a chance to meet me yet, please do come up and say hello.  You can usually find me outside school in the mornings or after school.  If you're not sure who I am, I'm the tall, bald chap!

I'm very excited about the new year here at school.  I think this could be the best year yet at Northfield Rd!
