  • Stour Vale Oracy Conference

    Thu 11 Jul 2019

Three pupils attended The Stour Vale Oracy Conference on Thursday 11th July. They introduced acclaimed author Cathy Cassidy in front of a theatre full of school leaders.

Our pupils were the youngest speakers and represented Stour Vale and the school.  All three were confident, happy and showed great oracy skills.

After presenting,  they worked with Cathy and even put on a small play - A Lesson in Daydreaming!

An amazing achievement - we are immensely proud of them.

To coincide with the school meal price increase, we are continuing to work towards our pledge to remove all single use plastic by April 2020, we are recommending the removal of all saleable drinks at lunchtime, instead we will be offering a drink of squash in reusable cups, which will be part of the £2.40 per meal cost.

Water will continue to be available throughout lunchtime.

We do hope you choose to support us in our pledge.

  • Stour Vale Academy Trust

    Tue 02 Jul 2019 Ms R M Cutting

I am delighted to be able to write to you to inform you that the legal process of academy conversion for Northfield Road is now complete and to welcome the children and families of Northfield Road Primary School to Stour Vale Academy Trust.
As you know, we began working alongside the leadership team at Northfield Road several months ago when the Regional Schools Commissioner identified Stour Vale as the sponsoring Trust for Northfield Road. It has been a great privilege to get to know the children and staff of Northfield Road and see first-hand the progress that the whole school has made this year supported by Mrs Brass as Executive Headteacher. Thanks to strong partnership work between the local authority, Mrs Brass, the school staff and the Trust, along with a shared commitment to putting the children at the heart of every decision, Northfield Road is now well-positioned to build on existing strengths and recent changes and continue its journey of improvement next year.
