I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along last night.  There were lots of very well thought out questions.  It really felt like we were working together for the benefit of our children and our school!

With events in the news recently, I thought it would be good to let you all know about our fire safety routines here at school.  

We have a full fire assessment by external agencies regularly and our most recent assessment was just a few weeks ago.  

We also routinely practise evacuation of the buildings.  We had a fire drill on Friday last week and the children and staff were excellent.

 

 

Our next  Parent Forum is on Friday 7th July at 9.15.  It's an exciting time for school as we move forward and it would be great to be able to discuss things together - things like Academisation, attendance and lots of other big things!  We'd love to see you there!

 

I'm absolutely delighted to be able to share an update from the Nursery school!  The Nursery is an outstanding school and a very important partner with Northfield Road. "Time for Twos" is a wonderful opportunity!

 

"The new building at Netherton Park Nursery School is due for completion next month. We are really excited that we will be able to offer morning or afternoon sessions for two year olds in an exciting purpose built environment. 
There are spaces for those children eligible for ‘Time for Twos ‘provision, as well as a limited number of sessions that parents will be able to pay for.

This week our Attendance Bear has been won by Mrs Apati's class with 100% from everyone in the class!  Well done!  

 

Honourable mentions also to Miss Matharu's class and Miss Bendall's class for excellent attendance last week.

 

 

Sports Day has been scheduled for Thursday 13th July.  Key Stage Two will be in the morning and Key Stage One will be in the afternoon.

 

I wanted to let everyone know of two important staffing changes -

 

Mr Murphy has now left the school and will not be returning.  I would like to thank him on behalf of everyone for the 14 years he has given to the school.  I'm delighted to announce that Mrs Vanes will be staying with us next year.

 

Mrs Jones will also be leaving at the end of term to take up a post in another school.  I'd also like to thank her for her years of service to the school and particularly for her help and support as Acting Deputy Head during my first year at Northfield Road.

 

 

 

Welcome back to the last half term of the school year!  I hope everyone had an enjoyable half-term.  I was going to say it's now time to enjoy the summer but this week has been cold and wet!

 

There's still over six weeks of term to go so there's still plenty of time for the children to make even more progress in their work before they finish for the summer.

 

Just as a reminder, term finishes for the children on Friday 21st July at 1.15.  Please note the early finish time that day.
