As you are aware, Northfield Road is in the process of becoming part of Stour Vale Academy Trust. This is an exciting chapter in the long history of the school, and one which will see us forge links with other schools.

The consultation process has now started and you will be receiving important information today.

There will be consultation meetings on Thursday 21st March at 2.00pm and 5.00pm – we hope that you can make it.

  • Our current leadership team

    Mon 14 Jan 2019 Mrs K Brass

May I take this opportunity to welcome you back and wish you all a very Happy New Year. Our children have settled very well into the new term and it was lovely to be greeted by such happy, enthusiastic children ready and eager to learn.

We endeavour to communicate with you more effectively as parents and carers to ensure you are fully informed of any changes and developments within school. We would, therefore, like to update you regarding our current leadership team as from January 2019.

To ensure continuity and strength in leadership at Northfield Road I am pleased to announce that following a recent Governing Body (IEB) meeting at the end of last term, for this academic year, Mrs Bennett will take up the role of Head Teacher, Mrs Bushell will step up to the Deputy Head Teacher role and Miss Docherty will take on Assistant Head Teacher. In my capacity as Executive Head Teacher I will continue to work closely with Governors and the Local Authority to lead and support the team on our school improvement journey.

As you aware Northfield Road will become a sponsored academy. The Regional Schools Commissioner's Headteacher Board is currently considering potential sponsors for Northfield Road. They will make a decision in the near future. Once a sponsoring trust has been appointed a meeting will be arranged for parents and members of the local community to meet the sponsoring trust and ask any questions.

Please note the date and times of our next Parent Forum Meetings which will be held on Tuesday 15th January at 9.30am and 5.30pm. These meetings will enable you as Parents and Carers the opportunity to have a ‘voice’ and contribute to school improvement.

It would be really helpful if you could email any questions or comments, positive or otherwise, that you would like us to respond to during the meeting on Tuesday 15th January.

Many thanks for your continued support.

  • Thank You

    Wed 21 Nov 2018 Mrs K Taylor

Thanks so much to moms, dads, grandparents, aunties, uncles, brothers, sisters and carers  for attending the parent meeting yesterday morning and for asking important questions about the school and how we're going to move forward since the Ofsted visit. It was very well attended and we appreciate everyone's involvement, support and pertinent questions. Thank you.

For those who couldn't attend but have either come to see me personally or contacted  Mrs Brass, your questions and support have been noted and  we're in the process of responding to these. The outcome is not one any school wants to be, but it is a journey and I hope you feel that your concerns were heard and questions were answered.

'The only way  is up!' as one parent so eloquently put it.

Please have faith and believe everyone in school wants the best for your children and we will work tirelessly to do everything needed to continue to make the changes necessary and transform the outcome as quickly and as rapidly as possible. Over time, we strive to gain your trust and look forward to a positive future partnership with yourselves for our children.
